It was two o'clock in the morning. No one was in the common room, well, all but one. It was rare for him to be awake at such a late, or early hour, as he was one who valued his sleep. Why wouldn't he sleep, after all? There was nothing on his mind, nothing for him to worry about...he was living the good life. Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy was well off, especially with who he was and how he was different from everyone else in Slytherin, or, at least, most of the people in Slytherin. He was a half-blood. Wait, wasn't his last name Malfoy? It was, he was just different. His father had been a pureblood, but he had ended up marrying a muggleborn, and so here he was, one of the only halfblooded Malfoys. He was also the youngest, which was just a perk. One that he loved, though.
He didn't care about his blood status, though. He had been raised to think the whole thing was stupid, just as his mother did. He would admit it, he was closer to his mother than he was his father, but he was rather close to both of them, as was his twin sister, Isabella. Their family was actually kind of good, compared to what his father had told of his childhood. He could never imagine living like that. How could parents be so mean to their children? But, then again, that was describing almost every family with a child in Slytherin, or almost all pureblood families. They had children to continue the line and then that was it, they treated them like crap from then on. That depressed him, he could never live like that. Even though he wasn't perfect, and he wasn't a pureblood, he still loved his life better than he would if his father had married who he had been planned to, Astoria Greengrass. Life would've been horrible if that had happened.
Scorpius was curled up one of the couches by the fire in the common room with a book. With Hermione Granger as his mother, he couldn't have helped but pick up on her love of reading. His mother loved books almost as much as she loved he and his sister, and that was saying something. He had been raised in a household where knowledge was a very valued thing because, after all, his mother had come out top of her year when she had been at Hogwarts. What was more ironic was the book that he was reading was "Hogwarts; a History". His mother had coached him into reading it in his first year, and it had quickly become one of his favorite books. There were so many secrets to Hogwarts, it was fascinating to him. He was slightly cold, and shivered. The fire was starting to die out.
Quickly, he picked up his wand from beside him and cast a quick spell to renew the fire. The dungeons were always quite drafty, and Scorpius always hated the cold. He absolutely hated the winter, and thought that it should be banned. But, sadly, he couldn't ban a season. His mother had laughed and said he should move to a warmer country, but he had joked around and said he'd take a rain check on it. He wasn't one for much traveling, either. He wasn't too fussy, and would stay wherever he ended up. He ended up in Britain, so he'd stay there. He hated the fact that Hogwarts was in Scotland, but dealt with it. He loved Hogwarts, and didn't think he'd ever leave. He'd probably end up getting a job here when he graduated. He was actually pretty smart, for the stereotypical Malfoy. Though, in actuality, nothing about him was stereotypical. Scorp sighed and turned the page. He didn't know really why everything was running through his mind. He was just a deep thinker like that. Scorp shrugged to himself. His sister had always said his mind would get him into trouble one day.

so one day he found her crying coiledU P O N T H E D I R T Y G R O U N D H E RP R I N C E F I N A L L Y C A M E T O S A V E her and the rest you can figure out- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - featuring scorpius malfoy with six three nine words Two in the morning was not the best time to be awake, especially when it was someone who preferred to sleep. Actually ... Persephone Nyx Riddle was someone who preferred to be up and about, doing whatever it was that she liked to do. However, when she got to sleep, she wouldn't want to wake up. But unfortunately ... for some bizarre reason, Percy found herself awake in the early hours of darkness. She groaned, rolling over on her bed in the girls chambers in the Slytherin Common Room. She stared at the darkness around her, trying to fall back asleep. Only, she felt awake ... which was a bad thing. She didn't want to be awake. She wanted to sleep and not have to worry about getting up for school or having to do anything. The good thing about waking up was the darkness. She liked the dark ... any kind.
Ok, so right now, sleeping was not going to be the option for Percy at the moment. If she wanted to go back to sleep, she was going to have to make herself sleepy. And just lying there staring into nothing was not working. She yawned, hopping out of bed. She ran her hand through her hair ... which was crazy from sleeping on it, but not extremely bad. She yawned again as she made her way to the door and out into the Common Room. "Miss Riddle? What are you doing up so early? Can i get mistress Riddle anything?" Persephone's eyes darted down to the house elf. She barely saw him through the darkness, but there was enough light coming from the small flames along the walls. "Yes. Yes, actually i would. I want something hot and will help make me sleep again soon." she simply said. The house elf nodded and disappeared.
A sudden bright light came on from the Common Room and Persephone soon realised she wasn't the only one up. She walked into the Common Room, seeing Scorpius Malfoy sitting on a couch. She smirked. Scorpius Malfoy was a sixth year. He was the son of Draco Malfoy, a pureblood wizard who ended up marrying a muggleborn, Hermione Granger. Persephone had heard all about these stories. That made Scorpius and his sister halfbloods, something different in the Malfoy line. It didn't seem to bother Scorpius. Persephone was very fond of Scorp. He was in Slytherin and he was just really good company. Plus, he was definitely cute ... even if he was two years younger. But Percy always enjoyed hanging out with Scorpius, she liked his company.
"Mr Malfoy ... what on earth are you doing up at this late hour?" Persephone asked, imitating her sister Artemis, who was their Head of House. She came up behind Scorp and then joined him on the couch. She sat on the other side, then rested her legs on his. She was someone who did that. She would either lean against someone or rest her legs on their lap ... some people were uncomfortable about it, others didn't care. There were even those that liked it, because they thought she was hot and were always trying to get something from her. Plus, they could feel her up, well ... her legs anyway. "Hey Scorpy." she said, smiling.
Persephone was surprised at how awake she felt. However, she then yawned and realised it must be her being overtired or something. The house elf appeared again with a mug of hot liquid. "Here you are mistress Riddle. Enjoy." he said before disappearing again. Persephone looked at the cup in her hands before taking a sip. She smiled in satisfaction as she looked back at Scorp. "Am i disturbing you Scorp? I'm sorry..." she said, tilting her head to the side.
