Hello to all students attending the defense against the dark arts. As you should all know, I Professor Artemis Riddle have the pleasure of teaching the subject. Now unlike some of your past professors who have taught the class with complete theory or as a practical class, my class will be taught 50-50, half of it as theory and the other half as practical. Now I've had the pleasure to note down a few rules which are subject to change under my discretion. Please read the rules below and abide by them, that way we hopefully wont have any problems.

⊗ Students are to be presentable. Untidiness will have you thrown out of the class for the day and you will have to do a make up lesson.
⊗ As the Dark Arts professor, or as many of you know me as, the Dark Arts Mistress, you are to respect me and my rules at all times.
⊗ I expect you to show respect to you classmates.
⊗ Attend to personal needs before coming to class.
⊗ I hate tardiness. If you're going to be late, don't come at all and you will make it up later, of course that is unless you have a note from a professor saying why you were late.
⊗ This is a classroom, i expect you to keep it in the state you found it, which is clean and tidy. Therefore, No vandalism. Don't write or carve on your desk or school property.
⊗ I expect everyone to participate in my class.
⊗ Stay on task and listen to directions.
⊗ Do your assignments, assignments that aren't handed in on the set date will be rewarded with detention.
⊗ Remain in your assigned seat, no switching with others.
⊗ No food, drink (except water), gum or candy is permitted in class.
⊗ Bring required materials every day unless you are otherwise directed. Required materials include your wand, textbooks, notebook, quill and ink.
⊗ Talk only when permitted. Raise your hand before speaking. I expect everyone's full attention in the class.
⊗ Only those that have received Outstandings in their 5th year OWLs may continue on to do this subject for NEWTs.
⊗ Points will be awarded or deducted depending on your behavior and contribution in the class.
