A gentle breeze blew through the castle, playing with Romulus's dark hair. The Ravenclaw had a few things on his mind none of them involved studying or anything else to do with shcool work. No his mind was on his brother who was still after Persephone; Alexa, Pandora and the jerk his best friend had been with, who is trying to get her back and his depression. He sat down that the Ravenclaw table with a heavy sigh. On top of everything else, the full moon wasnt too far off, he guessed it would be within the week. Another thing to worry about. Maybe he should just go up to his dorm and pull out his trusty pocket knife. It would make him forget about everything even if it were a few minutes. He subconsciously pulled his long sleeved shirt down further. Though he used glamour charms on them, he was still worried someone would find out about it. Sure his brother knew of his depression but he was always careful about self harming, no one knew and he perfered to keep it that was, well at least for now.
Romulus glanced over his shoulder, wondering where the people he was worrying about were. Maybe he should go and sit at one of their tables and wait for them. He decided against it, if they wanted to talk to him, they'd have to come sit with him. It might sound harsh, but he was too preoccupied with things. He managed to push the thoughts of his pocket knife out of his mind by focusing on the book he propped up against the salt and pepper shakers. Flipping the pages of the book until he got to the place he marked with a bookmark, he read the first paragraph and immediately cursed himself for picking this book. He hadnt even realised what it was, this book described the lives of a few of those that had heroically died in the second wizarding war. Both of his parents were in there and it automatically made his mind revert back to the knife.

She sighed as she entered the Great Hall. She had found herself walking here, not knowing why she did. She groaned as she saw that not many people were on the Slytherin table yet. If there was, Alexa probably didn't know who they were. Her eyes swept across the huge hall as she looked for somebody to talk to. She was about to walk to the Slytherin table when she noticed a familiar face sitting down not far from where she was standing. Alexa didn't know whether she should go over and sit with him. Reason for confusion? Simple, she was scared things might get awkward with them. They may have been a couple before, but after they broke up, she just couldn't help but have the feeling of awkwardness inside her when she was with him.
After scanning the Great Hall once more, she decided it was better to sit with someone than looking like an abandoned girl sitting all alone on the Slytherin table. So, she slowly made her way to the Ravenclaw table, her eyes fixed on Romulus the whole while. She noticed that he was reading a certain book. There was a look in his eyes that told Alexa he wasn't reading such a pleasant book. Alexa scratched the idea of finding out what book it was he was reading. If he didn't find it good to read, she didn't want to read it either. She would either feel sad herself, or feel sad for him. And believe her, she didn't want to feel anymore sadness. She hated that feeling.
"Hey, mind if I sit?" asked Alexa as she approached Romulus. If he didn't want anybody to talk to him, she could understand. She'd just walk to the Slytherin table and pretend that nothing had happened. She didn't want him to feel suffocated. That was what Alexa feared most about him feeling. She didn't want anyone to think she was a nuisance, unless they were her enemies, which were normal for her to have, considering she loved pestering other people and being a Slytherin, it was pretty much in her blood.

He stared at the words on the page, maybe he should have flicked through to another page, one that didnt have anything written about his parents, but the 2 names jumped out at him, preventing him from reaching out and turning the damn page. He poured himself a goblet of water and gulped it down, his throat had become parched all of a sudden. He poured himself another and took a sip before placing the goblet down just a litle bit too hard, sending droplets of water to splash out onto the table. He reached out and slammed the book shut, afraid that if he'd stared at it any longer, he'd break down then and there.
He heard a noise beside him but ignored it until a familiar voice spoke to him asking if they could sit down next to him. Flicking his eyes to the person, he found Alexa standing there. He knew they needed to talk about why he ended their relationship, but could never bring himself to do so. Yes they were friends, best friends to be exact. "Go right ahead," he replied to his ex girlfriend. He wondered if she wanted answers or if she simply missed hanging around with him. He turned his head away from her and stared at the food before picking a sandwich. He chewed on it slowly. He was trying to form his explanation in his head, random words floated around, among the others things that were on his mind. Maybe it wasnt the best time to tell her why, but then when was the best time? He slowly turned his head to look at her and sighed. She was still as beautiful as ever and that stumped him even more on what to say. "How are you?" he finally managed to say after he finished eating half of his salad sandwich, it was the only thing that he could think of to start a conversation.

Alexa flashed him a smile as she took her seat. At least he didn't mind her being there. "Thanks," she replied. She couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind. She sat there quietly, drumming her fingers on the chair as she tried to think of a topic to talk about. Their past? Huh, she'd probably break down soon enough. But she knew she would want to ask him sooner or later. Later the voice in her head said. She made no effort to push it away. It was going to put them in an awkward situation anyway.
It had hit her quite hard when he broke up with her. She guessed that it was better for him to move on and be more happy than get stuck with her and stay sulky. But, deep inside, she knew she always wished for them to get back together, to patch up and that was one thought inside her she could not get rid off.
Briefly, she examined him. He didn't change much. He was the same as when they broke up. She still thought he was equally as handsome. His sharp eyes still pierced her as hard as ever, his body still looked as muscular as ever and he just looked too good for her to look away from him, though she manages at times. Alexa couldn't help but look at him in the romantic way that she did when they were still together. She could still remember those times as if they were yesterday.
She smiled as he tried to start a conversation with her. "I'm fine, hope you're doing okay too," said Alexa. She looked straight into his eyes. She couldn't let go. It was like a sort of comfort to her. She had noticed him slamming a book earlier and forced her stare away from his eyes and onto the book. "What were you reading?" she asked. The idea of looking at the title didn't occur to her, especially now when she wanted to get to talk to him again. Rather than talking about their sad and rocky past relationship, might as well talk about something else, though Alexa hoped it was nothing bad. He had a quick temper and she didn't want him to burst into outrage here.

Romulus heard her drum her fingers on the wood, like she was trying to think of something to say. He let it slide as he looked away, avoiding looking at her. He wasnt as strong as others thought he was, his brother was stronger. Not being raised by their real parents hadnt sent Teddy into depression, but Romulus went straight to the darker side of it. He closed his eyes, trying to banish the reoccuring thought that kept invading his mind.
Even with his eyes closed, he had the image of her burned into his mind, just like he had of Dora. Both girls, complete opposites of each other and yet both were his best friends. He opened his blue eyes and licked his dry lips before taking a gulp of water.
"I've been better," he replied to her finally making eye contact. It wasnt exactly a lie, he had days that were better than this but he also had worse days. His eyes softened as he continued to look at her. He always admitted that he was stupid to let her go, but then he wasnt stupid at the same time. He didnt want to hurt her. Sure he had to break her heart, but he figured someone would come along and pick up all the pieces and make her happy. He hurt himself by breaking up with her but he knew he had his friends to help him. Maybe it was because had been told that his own father had a fear of hurting those that were a relationship with him that he thought the same. He was told that he reminded everyone of Remus Lupin.
He sighed before casting his eyes downwards, staring at the pattern in the wooden table. "I'm sorry," he mumbled more to himself but the words were sincere. He was sorry for hurting her, for hurting himself. He was sorry that he was part werewolf, though he enjoyed being one and sorry that he felt insecure about everything else. Before now, he felt like he couldnt say those 2 simple words and he felt that if he didnt say it now, he wouldnt get the courage to do so later.

Alexa smiled as she heard that he was doing fine himself. Even though she felt too awkward to really admit it, she really wanted him back. The least he could do was tell her the reason behind their breakup, all of it. She didn't know why, but she had the feeling that he was hiding something from her, and she didn't feel good about it. Not just because she didn't know what he was hiding, but because of that action of hiding something, she would naturally think he didn't trust her enough. It sounded a little harsh to say that about him, especially when he was so patient with her, but she couldn't help thinking about that small possibility. Get over it Alexa, he's already doing much better, no need to make things worse, she mentally told herself.
She turned to him as he casted a heavy sigh. He looked like he was thinking deep of something, something frustrating. And all of a sudden, an apology came out of his mouth, making Alexa stunned. He didn't do anything wrong, why was he apologising? She looked closer at him, getting lost in his eyes. Then, she exhaled sharply and smiled unsurely. "Why are you sorry? You haven't done anything wrong," said Alexa, who was forcing her hands not to grab his. Sure, they might be best friends but crossing hands would just seem a little off. She didn't know anybody who weren't couples who did that. If there were, then Alexa never noticed. She envied those who had boyfriends, at least they had a hand to cross fingers with.
In her head, she remembered the feelings clearly. Fingers in between each other's, not wanting to let go no matter how sweaty it was. To Alexa, the feeling was just amazing. It was the one time she could feel comforted. Nice. Warmth would spread all around her body, making her smile without realising it, making her head light. Then, she let out a small gasp when she realised her hand was moving closer to his and would touch if she moved any further. Blushing, she moved her hand away and placed it near to her, on the table. In her mind, she was secretly hoping he didn't notice but, you couldn't know, Rom had quite a sharp eye. Word Count : 403 Notes : None (;

Either she was playing dumb or she really didnt know why he was sorry. He looked around, this wasnt the place to say and yet she had asked him what he was sorry about. He ran a hand through his hair. "Havent I?" he asked, maybe it was better to keep her guessing until they were in a more private area to talk. He turned and gave her a faint smile.
He still wondered why she ever wanted to go out with him. She definitely didnt act like the majority of the slytherins. He turned and glanced at the slytherin table from the corner of his eye before turning back to her, comparing the ones that were on the table to her. He thought she would have gone for someone in her house, but yet she chose him, a Ravenclaw who had a brother and his other best friend in Gyrffindor, he wondered if that little fact ever bothered her. "Did anyone tell you how beautiful you look today?" he asked. It wasnt a lie, to him she always looked beautiful.
It seemed like she was fighting her own personal battle as well and he wouldnt have known what it was until he heard her gasp and pulled her hand away from him. For a moment he thought she was scared to touch him but dismissed the thought. He studied her for a moment, noticing the blush spread out across her cheeks. Why was she embrassed or nervous? He glanced down at the hand that she placed beside her on the table. He wanted to know what was going through her mind. His eyes flicked from her face back to her hand. His brother had always told him that he was too smart for his own good, but if he wasnt he wouldnt have been able to piece together what she had wanted. It seemed like she missed holding hands with someone, with him and he couldnt help but feel the same. He missed the feeling of someone caring about him. And yet the thought of being a werewolf who could hurt her pushed that feeling aside, like it was a mere fly.
He decided to do something spontaneous for a change. Reaching up he placed his hand on top of hers, again flashing her a rare smile. He only meant it as a comforting gesture but as soon as he touched her, he wanted everything to go back like thy were. He knew they probably wouldnt, not if she had someone else and he had to admit that he had started liking someone else, but the way he felt about Alexa would never change, he'd always love her.

Alexa shook her head. She didn't think he did anything wrong. He had been a great friend, one of the best. The past? No, she couldn't blame him for leaving, if he really did feel like breaking up with her. If he didn't have any more feelings for her, then she'd know she have to let go. The only thing she wouldn't forgive him for was for cheating on her with some other girl. But, he didn't do anything like that, right? It was either that or he managed to slip by unnoticed. Alexa knew him though, he'd never lie to her, especially not about that. And he was a faithful guy, she trusted him.
She loved every little bit of him still. His friends, well, she didn't know them much. She was aware though, that he had another best friend in Gryffindor. It had bothered her a lot when they were still together. He always seemed very close to her and secretly inside, she was jealous of that. If she saw them together laughing in the corridors or hallways, Alexa would always try to avoid them. Pandora. Everytime she heard that name, she would always have mood swings. It had posed a little problem when she and Romulus was together and now they weren't so Alexa wouldn't feel as much jealousy as she used to. She wondered whether he knew about the rivalry between her and Pandora. She always had very low self-esteem when it came to seeing Pandora and Romulus together. They looked much more happier than Alexa and Romulus were.
She smiled, startled at the sudden comment by Romulus. It had been a long time since someone had said that to her. She felt warm inside by now and couldn't stop smiling at what he had just said. "As a matter of fact, no, no one has. Well, until you,
" said Alexa, turning to beam at him. Her heart started pounding faster as Romulus placed his hand on her's. She saw him smiling, that was the one thing that melted her heart. Until that moment, she didn't know how much she missed his smile. It was always a rare one. " And has anyone told you, sir, that you look very charming at this very moment?" asked Alexa, putting on a high-society toned voice, not wanting the moment to turn awkward. She squeezed his hand softly, secretly wishing inside that they could never let go. But, she had a thought about really letting him go, all their past. Why? Because she didn't know if he liked someone. He probably does, she guessed, her self-esteem going low again. Maybe that Pandora girl. And who wouldn't like him? He's a sweet, gentle, charming guy. Slowly, her bright smile turned into a slight pout just thinking about that.[/blockquote][/blockquote] Word Count : 488 Notes : Sorry for the wait, had been busy yesterday :/

The dark haired Raveclaw frowned. No one had said she was beautiful for a while. Either that meant she didnt have another guy in her life, or he treated her like crap. Yet here she was beaming at him as she said those words. Did he really have that much effect on her still? "Well you are," he replied to her, "never doubt that."
He chuckled at her next words, him charming, if only she knew what he was, would she still use those types of words to describe him. He felt her squeeze his hand, his eyes flickering down to them for the briefest of moments before back to her. "Hmm lets see," he pretended to be deep in thought before the smile returned to his face, "Oh yes i do recall one person saying it...Alexa Greene, yes i think thats her name, Slytherin i believe, have you heard of her?" Yes he was being somewhat sarcastic, trying to lighten the mood between them. He chuckled softly to himself before squeezing her hand back, intwining his own fingers with hers.
Romulus knew he had to tell her. It had been months already and yet not a single word as to why he broke it off was said. He had to do it, he had to tell her. He looked around his table. No he wouldnt do it here, not where everyone else could hear. Not many knew of his werewolf status, though some had guessed. He decided to finish his lunch first, eating the rest of the sandwich slowly before deciding to grab a chocolate chip cookie, that too was eaten slowly, like he was trying to think of the best way to tell her. He had already made up his mind to tell her about being a werewolf and what he had done in the past, but the fact that he self harmed, well he was keeping that a secret that he would hopefully never have to tell. He didnt want others to pity him or feel sorry for him. He'd rather be known as a monster than someone who cuts. After finishing his goblet of water he stood up, his fingers still entwined with hers. "Come with me," he said softly, it wasnt a demand, she could easily say no if she wanted.

She couldn't help but smile when she heard what he had said. It gave her a little more self-esteem than usual. "Thanks, that's actually quite nice to hear,
" said Alexa, trying her best not to sound too happy in case Romulus thought it was weird. She couldn't really recall when someone had last been able to give her so much self-esteem that she felt really hyper. That was probably one of the things that assured her she still had feelings for him. But if he really wanted her to let go, she would. She'd rather be friends than gain another enemy. Alexa giggled as he said the next few words. He was humorous, that part she really, really loved. Alexa found herself falling easily for someone who could make her laugh and Romulus was one of the very few. She breathed in deeply as their hands stayed together. This had to be one of the happiest days that she had. Alexa wished that time would stop now, then she knew she would be happy all around. She managed not to let her other hand hug his arm. Normally, if she wanted to, she would. But now, it was with Romulus. He was different from all the other guys. He was somewhat mysterious and secretive. She wished she knew him better, a lot better, then she wouldn't have to worry what he was thinking about. Around him, she was much more self-aware. Even looking bad around him would make her whole face flush red, unlike what would have happened if it was around other people. Suddenly, Alexa noticed Romulus eating his food again, but slowly, and looking around. She furrowed her eyebrows, trying to think of why he was suddenly doing that. After he had finished his goblet of water, he had stood up and asked her to come with him. Alexa, once again, was stunned. She gave a small curved smile, shrugged then stood up. " Okay, where to?" asked Alexa. He was acting weird today. This wasn't usually how he acted but she went along with it anyway. And as to why he wanted to go somewhere else, she didn't know, but she hoped it wasn't anywhere bad or involving anything with bad.[/blockquote][/blockquote] Word Count: ( 386 ) Notes: None (;

He was glad she had decided to go with him. Instead of telling her where they were going, he gently pulling her along. He exited the Great Hall only to take a right and after a moment, he came across the little alcove that was deserted most of the time, one of their places that they used to hang out and talk among other things. Today seemed like fate was intervening. No one was around. He turned around and pulled out his wand, placing a silencing charm around them. He didnt want anyone to overhear them. He wondered if he should have choosen a more neutral place, this one held many happy memories they once shared. "You better sit," he let go of her hand only to let it run through his hair. Where to start. He begun pacing, not taking much notice whether or not she had sat down. Should he go right back to the start. Yes, it would hopefully make her undertsand more.
He turned, avoiding her eyes before leaning against the wall. He refused to slide down it and sit, making sure he had the oppotunity to run after her told her and after the reaction he was sure he was going to get out of her.
He knew what she was thinking, that he was being weird because maybe he cheated on her and his guilty concsious was getting the better of him. Truth be told, he'd rather have cheated on her then have to tell her this. His throat became parched again, he was nervous.
Romulus eventually turned to face her after what seemed like forever of silence. "You know i'd rather be known as a cheater rather than what im about to tell you. But you know i could never cheat on anyone, i cant stand seeing those guys using girls for their own pleasure and then throwing them away like a ragdoll," he looked down at his hands, he was getting off topic, something he was good at. He took a deep breath. "I'd understand if you dont want anything to do with me after i tell you," he paused, stalling again. He looked up at the ceiling. Why was it so hard for him just to say he was a werewolf, it was easy for him to say yes whenever someone close to him worked it out and asked him, but telling someone that didnt know, that was different. Romulus cursed himself, it would be easier if he had brought his book with him, she'd be able to see the picture of his parents. "Lex...i'm a werewolf, half werewolf actually," he took a deep breath and held it waiting for her reaction, not wanting to continue if she felt she couldnt handle it. He was waiting for her to run off, scared of him. Even a slap on his face and her anger would be fine with him.

All the while when Romulus was saying he'd rather be known as a cheater, Alexa had chills down her spine. What was this certain topic leading up to? It was bad news, Alexa was sure of it. Not one way she thought that the conversation was going to get. She was sitting down, her right leg over her left, her right hand grabbing her left elbow as she got more nervous as to where Romulus was going. And what was with the 'not wanting anything to do with him' part for? Alexa felt frustrated, her mind was in a whirl. It wasn't a comfortable feeling.
As Romulus looked up to face the ceiling, Alexa turned to face the ground, heart pounding fast. Just what was making Romulus so uneasy? They were close friends, best friends, what would he be scared of telling her? Or was it mainly because he didn't know he could trust her with anything? And just as she thought of that, the words rolled out of his mouth, jerking her head to face him, her heart pounding faster than she could have imagined. He wasn't lying, it was true. He would never joke about something like this. It was just that, Alexa didn't have a clue at all. She was purely shocked by what he had said.
Alexa stood up, walked and stopped only a few inches beside him and slapped him. Not too hard, not too light. She could feel the frustration and confusion inside her. She couldn't help it. Her hand just instinctively made itself slap him. Alexa looked at him with a desperate look in her eyes. There was a lot she wanted to ask, a lot she wanted him to answer. Then, she felt the weight on her legs falter and she leaned against the wall, then slowly sunk down to the ground, legs stretched.
"Was it painful?" asked Alexa. She was referring to everything. Had it been hard to keep it from her? Had it been really hard on him to tell her? Was being a half werewolf hard on him? Slowly, she bent her knees, put her arms around them and rested her chin on her knees. She honestly felt like crying. She could feel herself shivering. Her heart was still beating fast. She had felt like running away from him, but her legs just wouldn't move, she couldn't run away from him. She knew she'd miss him and she'd know that it'd be the worst decision she would ever make.

His eyes watched her wearily, wtaching her face for any reaction down to the way she held herself as she sat down. He had a feeling what he told her hadnt gone down well. He thought he was in the clear from anything after what seemed like hours pass which in fact were only seconds. That was until he saw her stand, he thought she was just going to walk away, instead she came closer to hhim
He closed his eyes as her hand made contact with his face. He deserved it, maybe if he had told her when the first went out, then they wouldnt have this problem right now. His hand itched to move to his cheek, to the place where she hit him but he forced it to stay where it was, he wasnt going to pity himself for being slapped.
Romulus heard her lean against the wall before sliding down it to rest on the floor. He turned and opened his eyes to look at her. Though he tried hard to keep his eyes a blue colour they were now a dark purple. It wouldnt suprise him to find his hair turning a purple colour either. He wanted to kneel down and wrap his arms around her to comfort her, to protect her from his words. He refused though, fearing that he wouldnt have control and do something stupid to hurt her even more. He was about to look away when she spoke.
Painful, many things in his life were painful, which specific one had she meant, the shifting from human to wolf or the part where he hadnt told her until now. He decided her question was a general one. "Very," was his reply after a while as he curled his hands into fists before shoving them into the pockets of his pants. There was more to his story though, one that he told no one. He tried to forget it. He gulped before continuing, trying to keep his voice steady, "Thats why i ended it, even though i loved you, i still love you, i wanted to protect you," he lowered his voice, "I've killed before." Well technically it hadnt been him, but he blamed himself. His mind went to that night, he could clearly see the lone muggle hiker and his dog. Romulus had killed the dog, only because it attacked him and the other werewolf he was with first. He had no control then, it was like he took a back seat in his own body. That night the werewolf had gotten the better of him. He had fought with himself that night, only stopping before he actually killed the hiker. He stayed close, watching the agony the muggle went through as he bled to death before anyone found him. He didnt want anything like that to happen to either Dora or Alexa. "I'll go it you want," he made a start to leave, looking down at her, not bothering to change his eye and hair colour back yet.

She took her time to absorb the story in. She stopped breathing as she heard him said that he had killed before. Then, she quickly catched her breath. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, wondering what she should do now. Alexa could feel her eyes tearing. So, now she knew, knew the reasons behind why Romulus broke up with her. It was because he didn't want to hurt her. But, he did hurt her in one way, actually. Did he really have that little confidence in himself?
Alexa jerked her head up to see his back as he started to leave. She knew she was terrified deep inside, that she was scared if he might hurt her, but, what was the point of even being friends if she didn't trust him? In that second, she decided to go with her instincts. "I don't care," said Alexa, standing upright now, hands rolled into a fist. "I don't care whether you're a vampire or a werewolf or an egotistic maniac, you're still my friend. You can only leave when you prove that you hate me or you don't care about me because I'm not going to let you go just because of this.
" There, she had said what was on her mind. It wasn't hard to decide which side she would choose. Romulus was a very good friend, it would be a very great loss if Alexa decided to let him go just because she felt scared. Yes, she was. But, she had lived until now and they were still friends. He wasn't any danger. He shouldn't be. Then, Alexa's mind shifted back to the words she had just said. What if he really left? What if he really told her that he didn't care about her? Change his mind in a split second? The suspense was killing her. So was the so called 'action'. Alexa had never once in her life met a werewolf. Never even went near one too. She couldn't concentrate on anything now. Her vision was a blur. All she could focus on was Romulus. It was like nothing else around them existed. It was as if everything was pitch black. Then, she had noticed Romulus hair looked a bit purplish. Alexa blinked repeatedly. She then remembered he had the Metamorphagus ability to change his features according to his mood. Then she suddenly couldn't help but wonder how many more secrets Romulus hadn't told her yet.[/blockquote][/blockquote] Word Count : ( 429 ) Notes : It's okay.

He gazed down at her for a moment longer before taking another step away from her, his eyes closed. She hadnt said anything. The silence was becoming unbearable for him. That was until he heard her voice. He didnt dare turn around, not yet anyways. He didnt know if she was staying those words just to keep him there or if they were the truth. Probably both, he thought.
She said she didnt care what he was, that he was still her friend. It was only when she said her next statement that he turned around to face her. How could he prove that he either hated her or didnt care for her, he couldnt. Sure he could make an excuse up and walk away from her afterwards, but that would be a lie. He didnt want to lie to her, not with something that involved hatred. He casted his eyes downwards. "I cant do that, not without lying to you," he spoke, refering to the not caring and hatred part. he found it quiet ironic. He had told her that he still loved her and yet she went on about not caring that he was a werewolf, that he was still her friend.
He took a step towards her. He wanted to reach out to her. His hand moved but as soon as he realised what he was doing, he forced it back to his side. He'd let her make the first move. His eyes glanced down at her fists, was she planning to use them on him. His eyes moved back up to her face. Was she intending to keep this between them or tell everyone his secret the first chance she got? He brushed his hair out of his eyes, making the purple. "I meant what i said, i really do care about you, i wouldnt still love you if i didnt," he looked her in the eye.
